News From Across GMRSD

The last three days of school (June 12, 13, and 14) are half days with dismissal at noon.  Lunch is provided on all three days.  Please note: if your student has medication, epipen, inhaler, ointment, etc. in the health office, please stop by before noon on Friday June 14 to pick it up from Nurse Joni.  Otherwise, they will be discarded.
We have numerous items in our lost and found!  Coats, mittens, hats, shoes, boots, sweatshirts, snowpants..... They are in the front lobby.  Feel free to stop on by and see if any items belong to your student!  Items not claimed by the end of the school year will be donated.
  Hillcrest Elementary School Friday News May 31, 2019   Dear Hillcrest Families,   Wow! It’s hard to believe that it’s the final day of May! We have just two weeks of school left and we’ll be busy each day with lots of learning in the classroom and lots of fun events outside the classroom, too!  One of my favorite end of the year events is the Senior Walkthrough which will take place next Friday, June 7th. This is when the seniors of Turner Falls High School take a walk through the halls of Hillcrest dressed in their graduation caps and gowns...
It’s hard to believe we’re here, but this is the last newsletter of the year school year. Though short, June is jam packed with activities and fun. This morning students attended a fire safety assembly with Firefighter Phil.  Ms. White’s class attended a field trip to the Discovery Center. Friday, May 31 the fifth grade will be attending a field trip to Old Deerfield.   We have Field Day on Wednesday, June 5th for grades 2 and 3, and June 7th for grades 4 and 5.  A permission slip is also going home today that has to be returned in order to attend and so we know your child’s comfort level in the pool.  Each student will get a wristband that will determine which pool they can enter. Wow! Our 8th grade Introduction to World Language students made cartoons that demonstrated their learning of Russian greetings and the Cyrillic Alphabet. They had to make a cartoon where at least 2 people/animals/things greet each other, give names, ask how the other is doing, and say goodbye, with all of the dialogue written in Russian.
