About Our District
The Gill-Montague Regional School District is a preschool-12th grade district situated along the Connecticut River in the Upper Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts in Franklin County, serving the children in the town of Gill and the five villages that comprise the town Montague. Secondary students from the Town of Erving attend the district's middle and high schools.
The district benefits from the educational influences of the Five College Area (Amherst College, Hampshire College, University of Mass Amherst, Smith College, and Mt. Holyoke College). With an aggregate population of 12,120, the district is a distance of 11 miles from Amherst, 30 miles from Springfield, and 87 miles from Boston. The district is near Interstate 91 and Route 2 at the gateway to the Mohawk Trail.

Students have the opportunity to participate in activities such as athletics and fine arts (including art, band, music, and chorus), as well as programs such as Tools of the Mind and Developmental Design. Our goal is to prepare students to meet future challenges and enjoy successful college and career experiences.
