Marching Against Hunger on 11/20

5 students who are planning to participate in the march, one holding a sign asking for supportThis November 20th, teachers Jennifer Luciano and Jessica Vachula-Curtis are aiming to bring a longtime vision they've shared time to reality: GFMS and TFHS students participating in the region's big annual fundraiser for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts: Monte's March Against Hunger. This will be the 9th year that local radio personality (and Turners Falls resident!) Monte Belmonte is leading a group of marchers from Springfield to Greenfield over the course of two days. Last year's event raised more than $258,000! 

The plan is for GFMS and TFHS students to participate for part of the second day of this year's march as a school-sponsored field trip. Students who participate must return a completed, signed permission slip by October 31 and be eligible to miss classes on November 20th. We will add more details to this page as the plans evolve!
