Chromebooks!

Dear GFMS Families: As you know, Great Falls Middle School is in the process of becoming a 1:1 Chromebook school. Under this new model, all students will have access to a Chromebook for use in all of their classes. After the return of the Policy and Loan Agreement with a parent/guardian signature, Grade 7 and 8 students will begin classroom use of Chromebooks and eventually be able to bring their Chromebooks home. Grade 6 students also need to complete the Policy and Loan Agreement, but they will not be bringing Chromebooks home; they will use them in school and will not be assigned homework that requires the use of a Chromebook. Please read the agreement carefully, and review it with your student, and then both parent/guardian and student must sign and return the Acknowledgment Form (last page of the agreement). No student will be issued a Chromebook until the Acknowledgement Form has been returned. If you need a copy of either of these forms, please contact the main office at 413-863-7300.

To help with this transition, we will hold a parent/guardian Chromebook Information Session on our Open House Night, Thursday, September 20. The regular GFMS Open House will run from 6:30-8:00 pm. The optional Chromebook Information Session will begin at 6:00 in the theater. We look forward to seeing you then!
