Perhaps a little earlier than expected, we are preparing for possible winter weather delays and cancellations, and want to remind you of the following information.
In terms of notifying families about delays or cancellations for the Gill-Montague Regional School District, we communicate this news through the following channels, usually between 5:45 and 6:00 am:

automated phone calls to all current family main household phone numbers

Tomorrow, Friday, November 9 is dress as your favorite book character. This is not a ‘have to’ but ‘if you want to’.
Please no make up or hair dyes.
· There is a book fair happening again tomorrow, November 9 in our library from 8:30-9:00 and 12:00-3:00.

Dear Hillcrest Families,
Happy November! November often feels like a “short” month as far as school days are concerned. There are several holidays and early release days this month which really impact our school calendar. Rest assured that we’ll take full advantage of the November school days we’ve got by staying super-focused on maintaining predictable schedules and a high level of student engagement!

We conducted a bus evacuation drill with all grades this morning.
Daylight savings time is this weekend, remember to turn clocks back one hour Saturday night. ( This is also a perfect time to change the batteries in all your smoke detectors.)
Mobile dentist was here today to begin seeing students whose families signed them up. If they were not seen today, mobile dentist will return to complete dental services on November 6.
November 8 and 9 are both half days with a noon dismissal . We have parent/teacher conferences both of these days , and a book fair in our library....

What are head lice?
Head lice are small, wingless parasitic insects. They are typically 1/6 -1/8 inches long, brownish in color with darker margins. The claws on the end of each of their legs are well adapted to grasping a hair strand. Female head lice glue their grayish-white to brown eggs (nits) securely to hair shafts. The eggs are difficult to remove without a special “nit-comb”. The nits are generally near the scalp, but they may be found anywhere on the hair shaft.
A child cannot “catch nits”. Nits (lice eggs) can only be laid by live lice.
