A huge thank you to all the families that have been contributing to our food drive! We have collected 224 items the first week!! We will continue to collect non-perishable food items through December 14th. Please check expiration dates before sending in with your student. Each Friday student council members count, load and deliver our donations to the Montague Catholic Social Ministries .
Monday, December 10 there is a School Council meeting from 3:30-4:30 in my office. This is a public meeting and anyone is welcome to attend.

At our November 30th All School Meeting, the theme was "Gratitude."
We did the "2, 4, 6, 8 -- Who do we appreciate?" greeting and enjoyed hearing from preschoolers in Ms. Welles' class, who each shared one of the many things they are thankful for.
Kindergarten students in Ms. Hirst's class have been practicing finding words they know inside poems and reading poems together in one voice, and they recited this poem by Jack Prelutsky for us:

One of the district's improvement goals this year is to study and plan for a more systemic approach to improve student affective learning outcomes. What we mean by this umbrella term is summarzed in the document below. As a next step in our work in this area we invite parents and guardians to take a short survey, in which you can share your thoughts on establishing priorities for our work in this area. As part of our district work to improve student affective learning outcomes, the superintendent would like to open up a dialogue with parents and guardians of students of color. Before announcing a date, venue, and agenda for an initial meeting, I would like to invite anyone interested in helping me set up a meeting, or series of meetings, to contact me with their thoughts on how to proceed.
