Project 351's Annual Launch Day
On Saturday, January 19th three GFMS 8th grade students attended Project 351’s annual Launch Day in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. 351 students representing every town and city in Massachusetts traveled to Boston and gathered in historic Faneuil Hall to launch a year-long service project. Our GFMS students made new friendships, listened to inspirational calls to action from service leaders including Governor Charlie Baker, First Lady Lauren Baker and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and then went out to spend their first day in service! Our students helped make enchiladas and care bags for the homeless at the Pine Street Inn and painted murals in a Boston school. They returned to GFMS excited and empowered to make a difference through service.
