Happy March from Gill Elementary School!
Now that roses have been replaced with shamrocks, it’s easy to get lulled into thinking that spring is here, and warmer weather is upon us. However, it is still snowy and wet, and to that ends, we ask that you please keep sending students with snow gear and with extra clothing for days when they are outside for recess- most days. Here is a limerick to that effect!
There is a small school in Gill.
It sits right on top of a hill.
When the longer days come,
But the snow is not done,
Kids like to go sledding still!
On Friday, 3/1/19, we have an exciting event. It will be a pizza and bingo night at Gill Elementary starting
at 5:00. It will also be the last chance to purchase raffle calendars from our PTO before drawings start- the first drawing will be at that event. As an added bonus, the class that sells the most calendars will be attempting to duct tape me to the wall to see if I can stick! Talk about your good times. Friday, 3/1/19 is also our March All-School Meeting.
A quick note about food: On days when we have delays, or for other unforeseen reasons, the lunch menu may change unexpectedly. While we do try and ensure that the menu is being followed, there are times when circumstances beyond our control force a change. Thank you for your understanding.
We have three half-days this month. 3/6/19 is a professional development day for staff. 3/14 and 3/15 are half days for parent conferences. Please be on the lookout for sign-up information from your child’s teacher.
Thank you,
Conor Driscoll
