Dear Hillcrest Families,
Happy 2022! I sincerely hope that 2022 brings better health and more predictability to all of us! We have begun 2022 here at school with some significant disruptions – a Two Hour Delay on Monday and a Snow Day on Friday – and that makes it challenging to get back into the swing of things!

We have been holding monthly Half School Meetings which follow Responsive Classroom’s Morning Meeting components; Greeting, Sharing, Activity and News and Announcements. I have added ‘birthday’ in there and give pencils to staff and students who have a birthday in the month. Summer birthdays will be celebrated in June. 4th and 5th graders meet for a half hour in the afternoon, there’s a 10 minute break, then 2nd and 3rd have a half hour meeting. By having half of the school at once in the auditorium, we can safely have students sitting three feet apart. ...
