  Hillcrest Elementary School Friday News March 29, 2019 Dear Hillcrest Families, Wow!  March has really flown by!  It’s hard to believe that when we return to school on Monday, it will be April 1st! Earlier this week, I talked with our Kindergarten and First Grade students about the signs of spring they’ve observed.  Their observations included plants growing in their yards, warm and sunny recess times, and the opening of the local ice cream store! Spring is in the air! The days are longer and mostly warmer, and we are gearing up for the gardening and nature adventures that spring brings with it. That being said, this is New England, and blizzards followed by blistering hot days are not uncommon. We go outside whenever we can, so please help your child plan accordingly for recess. On Wednesday, 4/3/19, there is a half day for students. Thursday at 5:15 is our monthly PTO meeting at the Rendezvous in Turners Falls. Friday, 4/5/19 is our family dance at 5:30. Thank you to all the students and families who created the beautiful bridges as well as attended last evening’s bridges event!  We fed over 160 people last night.
