Happy May Day from Gill Elementary!
No we are not sinking, we are cruising into the end of the school year! As we head into the warmer weather and fun of the spring, there are a number of dates to keep in mind for fun events!
The PTO is currently wrapping up their end of the year plant sale. Thank you to all who have purchased the beautiful hanging baskets. Proceeds go to supporting our students and field trips. Friday, May 3rd, we will be having a special all-school meeting. In addition to the normal celebrations and excitement, a couple 4th grade students have organized a spring cleaning of our grounds, should the weather cooperate.
Additionally, our School Sing on 5/17 will be our Memorial Day Themed Celebration. This will include a color guard from our local veterans that has a presentation of arms. The public is invited to this special event to remember the sacrifice of those who served in the military. Memorial Day is on 5/27, and there will not be school. May 8th is a half day for teacher in-service.
Finally, I’d like to extend an invitation to the community. We have a beautiful nature trail just begging to be used. The public is welcome and encouraged to use the trails. We do ask that if you come during the school day, that you check in at the office. And, as always, check for ticks when you’re done!
Have a wonderful month!
