Dear Gill Community,

I would like to extend a big THANKS to all the parents who helped out with the PTO plant fundraiser. I also want to thank the Bingham family in helping to clean out the front garden over the break.

Here are a few updates:

• We are planning on an outdoors all-school meet this coming Wednesday at 11:15 behind the school. Families are welcome to come early for pick up and join the meet. We will be introducing our Buddy Bench program, recognizing the Gill 100 Mile Club achievers, and more.
• The idea behind the Buddy Bench is simple - if a child feels lonely, they can go to the bench as a signal that they need someone to play with. Another child will see them, go and talk to them and include them in their games. We will be putting this bench in the back playground and it is a space to signal someone needs a friend.
• Sixth grade returned today from a week away at Nature’s Classroom. They returned looking tired, but had a great time!
• Students should keep logging their miles for the Gill 100-mile club! They can keep track at home or come up on the break. Many are close to getting their 25 miles’ t-shirt!
