Press Release – Announcement of Next Gill Elementary School Principal

I am pleased to announce the appointment of our next Gill Elementary School Principal -- Ms. Lisa Desjarlais. Ms. Desjarlais was enthusiastically selected as a finalist for the position by the initial search committee and then chosen as our candidate after finalist interviews. A contract agreement with Ms. Desjarlais has been reached and she will begin work on July 1.

Here is some biographical information about Ms. Desjarlais. She has served as principal of Pelham Elementary School since 2010. Prior to this she served as an assistant principal in Amherst. Before that, she worked as an elementary school teacher for 16 years. Prior to working in the field of education, she worked for ten years in the mental health field. She received a bachelor’s degree in education and human services from the University of Massachusetts, master degree in special education from Westfield State University, and CAGS from Westfield State University.
