Supplemental Low-Income Data Collection
Our school district receives additional state and local funding to support learning for students whose families are identified as low income. The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education identifies most of these students already, by identifying students who receive public assistance, but not all. The district has recently sent out letters to familes not currently identified as low income, asking that if a family thinks they do qualify as low income to complete a form to assist us in identifying all eligible students and thereby securing more state and local funding for our schools. Please be aware that this is a voluntary process. Families are not required to submit this information. However, to help promote this extremely important data collection, we have received donations from community members and local businesses. To thank families for completing and submitting the forms, they will be entered in a drawing for one of ten gift certificates to local businesses. Families that submit their complete packets (forms and supporting documentation) by October 1, 2021, will be eligible for the gift certificate drawing.
