Changes to Home School/ Home Education Procedures
Gill-Montague Regional School District will be implementing a new home education plan application to take effect for the 2020-2021 school year. We appreciate this is a change for our home/ school families and we ask that you please bear with us! We have identified a need to improve upon our record keeping relative to district residency, student grade assignments, and "child find" and identification of students who may require or qualify for special services who are either home schooled or attending a private school at private expense. Please note as of August 3, 2020 we have REVISED the original home education program application that was posted on our website to grant families additional time in completing this process. We ask that interested families complete their Notice of Intent and home /school application (that includes verification of residency) prior to the end of August. The district will review your application, request clarification if necessary, and send an approval notice prior to the start of the school year. At this time, our school year is expected to start on September 14, 2020 given an announced delay to the opening of school per the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
