Local Golf Fundraiser Benefits Local Families
Our Family Engagement Coordinator, Stacey Langknecht, was contacted earlier this fall by representatives from the Thomas Memorial Golf Club to find out if our school district might be interested in participating in a community benefit. Our district gratefully welcomes oppportunities to form partnerships and relationships with area businesses, colleges, and organizations that can benefit members of our school community and advance learning opportunities for our students. To follow is a short write up from Stacey about the outcome of this connection.
Local Golf Fundraiser Benefits Local Families
We were so lucky this year to get a call from Chet Czernich, who, along with Ray Zukowski, ran a golf tournament this fall at Thomas Memorial Golf Club to raise money for Thanksgiving meals for families! Between our school district, The Brick House, and Montague Catholic Social Ministries, they donated about 60 boxes, each containing a turkey, side dishes, and a pumpkin pie – yum!
These wonderful gentlemen also donated their muscles as they helped us load up their cars. Their big hearts made many of our local families very happy.
We at GMRSD are grateful for their donation, especially this year, when times are much harder for many families. Knowing that many of our students will be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with their families this year makes us happy, too!
Thank you Chet and Ray- your efforts are appreciated!
