At the February 26 School Committee meeting staff from the Collaborative for Educational Services (CES) will present themes and recommendations from listening sessions they recently facilitated with GMRSD parents, students, and staff. Happy Friday from Gill Elementary School! Thank you everyone who came to our Evening of Dialogue last Friday. It was a fantastic event, and well attended! We had a chance to talk about challenges, and our experiences as parents. We intend to do more of these evenings throughout the rest of the year, with more targeted topics such as puberty and our kids, and dealing with cliques and conflict. Some classes exchanged Valentines, while others chose to make cards as a community service project, but it was a day to enjoy friendships. •In honor of Black History Month, each morning after a fifth grader recites the pledge of allegiance over our loudspeaker, they read about the contributions of influential black Americans to our culture.
