Dear Hillcrest Families,

There was lots of excitement in the air this week as our students eagerly anticipated Halloween.  As you may imagine, Halloween on a Sunday night means lots of tired kiddos on Monday morning!  If I had magical powers, I would cast a spell for early bedtimes on Sunday night! 

 

A few important news items:

  • We’re so happy that the United Way Readers program is up and running again for our preschoolers! This program brings community members to school to share a read-aloud and a new book once a month.  This week, your preschooler came home with a new book from this wonderful program in their backpack: The Caring Me I Want to Be by Mary DiPalmero. I hope you enjoy reading this book with your little one!

  • Photographer Molly Baxter will be back at Hillcrest on November 3rd for Picture Retake Day. For more information on Picture Retake Day, please see the flyer that was sent home in backpacks today.  It is attached to this week’s email and you may also access it here: Picture Re-Takes

  • Parent Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 4th and Friday, November 5th. At this point, you should have received confirmation of your parent conference time from your child’s teacher. If you have not, please call the Main Office at 413-863-9526.

  • Friends of Hillcrest is sponsoring a Fall Festival here at Hillcrest on Saturday, November 20th from 3:00 - 6:00.  A flyer went home earlier this week outlining this special event and asking for volunteers.  For more information, you can contact friendsofhillcrest2015@gmail.com.
