11/02/2018 Friday News
Dear Hillcrest Families,
Happy November! November often feels like a “short” month as far as school days are concerned. There are several holidays and early release days this month which really impact our school calendar. Rest assured that we’ll take full advantage of the November school days we’ve got by staying super-focused on maintaining predictable schedules and a high level of student engagement!
A few items to note:
-
We’d like to extend a special Thank You to Firefighter Luke and Firefighter Trish of the Turners Falls Fire Department for visiting Hillcrest on Wednesday and teaching all of our students about Halloween Safety!
-
Tuesday, November 6th is Election Day and Hillcrest Elementary is a voting location for Precincts 3 & 4. We will follow our regular routines for arrival and dismissal, but please be aware that we may not run perfectly on schedule that day. In order to accommodate voting in our All Purpose Room, we have to make a series of adjustments that may slow us down a bit. Also, please be aware that there will be at least one Montague Police Officer on duty at school from 8:00 - 3:30.
-
Thursday, November 8th and Friday, November 9th are Early Release Days for Parent Conferences. Our preschoolers will be dismissed at 11:30 and our kindergarten and first grade students will be dismissed at noon. As usual, lunch will be served both days.
-
Don’t forget to attend your Parent Conference this week! If you are unsure of your scheduled conference time, please call Mrs. Prokowich in the main office and she will assist you.
-
Looking ahead . . . there is No School on Monday, November 12th in honor of Veterans Day. And, please note that the GMRSD Food Drive to benefit MCSM will begin on November 19th.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend --
Sarah Burstein
