10/12/2018 Friday News
Dear Hillcrest Families,
It was wonderful to see so many Hillcrest students and families here at Hillcrest for Open House on Wednesday night! Our students were so proud to to show off their classrooms, share their achievements and introduce their families to their new friends. Thank you very much for joining us!
A few items to note:
-
A special thank you to Firefighter Luke and Captain Kyle of the Turners Falls Fire Department for coming to school on Monday to teach all of our students about Fire Safety. Please be sure to ask your children what they learned about smoke detectors and family meeting places.
-
Parent Conferences are coming up . . . mark your calendars for November 8th and 9th. If you attended Open House, you probably signed up for your conference at that time. If not, please be in touch with your child’s teacher through a note in the blue folder or via email.
-
A reminder for preschool families -- After dropping your children off in their classrooms at 8:30, please exit the building through the front door near our main office. The door adjacent to the Griswold Street parking lot should not be used as a parent exit after 8:30. Thank you for respecting this important safety policy.
-
And, a reminder about footwear -- Please be sure that your child is wearing safe, sturdy footwear to school each day. The best choice is a pair of sneakers or other rubber-soled shoes that tie or fasten securely. Flip-flops, backless sandals and high heels are not allowed at school. Please check the Family Handbook for more details.

Looking ahead -- Our October All School Meeting will be held on Friday, October 26th at 9:00. We will enjoy presentations from Mrs. Prevett’s preschool class, Mrs. Lesenski’s kindergarten class and Ms. Smith’s first grade class. We hope to see you there!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend --
Sarah Burstein
