Dear Hillcrest Families,
This year, the school district has welcomed a new community member, Officer Dan Miner, as our School Resource Officer. Officer Miner’s main duties include developing positive relationships with students and staff, working with school staff to provide preventive help and services to students and families, supporting plans for safety drills and crisis management, and helping us to plan for special events such as Election Days. Officer Miner is based at Turners Falls High School and Great Falls Middle School, but he will visit Hillcrest occasionally. He will be joining us at our Open House on October 10th and at our October All School Meeting on October 26th in order to meet families and other community members. I am looking forward to working with Officer Miner throughout the school year.
A few additional notes:
- Our Hillcrest Open House is Wednesday, October 10th from 5:30 - 6:30. This is a very special event for all of our students, their families and our Hillcrest staff. We aim for 100% attendance at this event. It’s a wonderful opportunity to visit your children’s classrooms, to see their schoolwork, to learn about our curriculum and to make connections with other Hillcrest families. Please join us!
