Dear Hillcrest Families,
These final weeks of school are zooming by! Despite the unusual nature of this school year, some things just don’t change and one of those is the amazing growth that our young students experience in such short periods of time! I am sure you’ve noticed changes in your child . . . their confidence in newly developed skills, their interest in new friends, and their willingness to take on increasingly challenging tasks -- from tying their own shoes to reading independently and everything in between. One of the joys of working with young children is the opportunity to support this growth . . . thank you for letting us join you in this journey!
Some important news items for the week:
-
Friends of Hillcrest has partnered with Silver Screen Design to set up an online store for Hillcrest community members to purchase Hillcrest gear such as t-shirts, sweatshirts and baseball caps. As soon as the store goes “live”, I will post the link on our school website and set it to you via email.

We have another Story Walk planned for this weekend at Rutter’s Park in Lake Pleasant. This Story Walk will feature the book Over and Under the Pond by Kate Messner. You can enjoy the story walk from 9:00 - 3:00 on Saturday. If you would like to preview the book, check out the author reading the book on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vts7rQQ8H4Q

Registration is open for our Hillcrest Preschool! Students must live in our school district and turn 3 prior to September 1st in order to enroll. Next year, we plan to have a half-day program for three year-olds and a full-day program for four year-olds. Our currently enrolled preschoolers DO NOT need to register. They are automatically enrolled for next year. More information on Student Registration can be found at www.grmrsd.org or by calling the Office of Student Services at 413-863-7508.
