Dear Hillcrest Families,
Happy March! The first week of March has been filled with lots of opportunities to celebrate Read Across America! From extra read-alouds each day to dressing in funny hats and crazy socks, we’ve had lots of fun! Tonight at 5:00, we’ll celebrate with Read Across Hillcrest! Please join us for very special read-alouds of books from our Diverse Books Collection, along with craft projects, FREE book shopping and a pizza dinner. Our guest readers will share the following wonderful books with students and families: We Don’t Eat Our Classmates by Ryan T. Higgins, Pink is for Boys by Robb Pearlman, The Big Umbrella by Amy June Bates and A Hat for Mrs. Goldman by Michelle Edwards. I look forward to seeing lots of Hillcrest families tonight!
If you’ve been at school recently, you may have noticed some changes in our front entryway. Our Diverse Books Family Lending Library is now located in that space, along with a Family News Bulletin Board, a new door and a new window. In the next week or so, we’ll also be installing a new doorbell inside the entryway. It may take a while to get into the habit of using this new doorbell, so please be patient as we make adjustments. Thank you!
