Senior Exam Exemption Agreement: Seniors are exempt from final exams (not final papers/projects, and not in AP courses) if their average in the class is 90 or above on the date of the second to last class before the exam. Teachers need to have graded all work turned in and entered scores into the portal by this date. Seniors are not excluded from taking a final exam by choice, even if they have an average above 90, and the exam counts whether it helps or hurts the student’s final grade.
Final exams for Seniors will occur on May 25, 26, and 27.
Senior attendance is required on these dates, whether or not seniors are taking an exam.
On May 25, Seniors will be excused for the day if all academic responsibilities
and other obligations have been completed.

Tuesday, May 25 - Only exams for Odd day Classes – 2.5 courses will be given.

Senior exams will take place in the library according to the above schedule.
Seniors must remain in the exam location, even if finished, until 11:03.
Friday May 28 – Senior Exam Make Up Day
*Make-ups are arranged between students and teachers.
This is the last day for seniors to complete academic responsibilities for graduation.
THIS GRADUATION REHEARSAL SCHEDULE IS
MANDATORY FOR ALL SENIORS

Rehearsal – 9:45 AM- GYM (mandatory) it’s one rehearsal
When rehearsal is done, seniors will take a bus to, Erving, Gill, Sheffield and Hillcrests Schools
to do the “Senior Graduation Walk Through” OUTSIDE in Caps and Gowns
(If it rains this will have to be cancelled)
Senior Awards Night – 6:30 PM in the Gym
(Seniors should report to the Cafeteria by 5:45 PM with their Caps and Gowns)

Senior Awards/Graduation is a special event and proper attire is required.
NOTICE TO SENIORS:
All school materials must be returned to your teacher in person.
Students should not leave materials on a teacher’s desk
All financial & material obligations must be settled or your diploma will be held.
CAP AND GOWN DISTRIUBTION – The rental fee is $16.00.
The fee is due by Thursday, June 3, 2021.
The fee includes a souvenir cap.
If you pay by check, please make it payable to Turners Falls High School
and return it to the high school office.
Your cap and gown will be available during rehearsal on Thursday June 3rd.
After the graduation ceremony, students must return their gowns to the cafeteria
Where they will be collected!
IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER
Tuesday, May 25: full day of school for seniors
Wednesday, May 24 & Thursday, May 25: Senior dismissal at 11:03
Friday, May 26: Exam or other assignment makeups as previously arranged with your teacher
Bus transportation is not provided for dismissal at 11:03.
Seniors who have completed exams for the day are not to loiter in or outside the building.
Seniors who arrive late may not be allowed in the exam room and would,
therefore, be forced to arrange for a makeup exam.
If, through truancy, a senior misses an exam he/she will receive a zero on the exam.
Cheating/plagiarism will also result in a zero on the exam.
Seniors are to return all textbooks and materials to their teachers by the end of exam week.
All library books must be returned to Library
All textbooks must either be returned to your teacher in good condition or paid in full.
Any outstanding obligations must be returned or paid in full in order to receive your diploma!
Senior Awards Night & Graduation will be held in the gym.
Entry is by ticket ONLY, if you do not have a ticket you will not be able to enter.
6 Tickets will be given to each senior for each night.
It’s first come first serve seating;
Please keep this in mind when making arrangements with your family.
This plan is contingent upon the approval of The Montague Board of Health.
If something changes you will be notified by TFHS.

COVID-19 Safety Standards for Commencement and Graduation Ceremonies Held by Colleges and Universities, K-12 Public and Private Schools Effective as of March 22, 2021 Updated April 28,
If Graduating students are indoors and masked, they must be seated 6 feet apart. Whether indoors or outdoors, all other attendees must be seated 6 feet apart and wear masks, except for members of the same household/group. Ceremonies should be kept as brief as possible. No food or drink permitted. No communal gathering or reception either before or after the Commencement. Attendance must be limited to faculty, administrators, speakers, and graduates and their guests only. Guests are limited to no more than 6 guests per graduate.
Staff must confirm that all guests entering the Commencement have complied with registration and ticketing requirements. Ticketing helps ensure that guests and graduates have been screened for COVID19 symptoms.
Contactless registration/ticketing is encouraged. Graduates and guests, as well as faculty, administrators, and speakers, must attest at the time of registration/ticketing that they will not attend the Commencement if: They are experiencing any symptoms such as fever (100.0° and above) or chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, fatigue, headache, muscle/body aches, runny nose/congestion, new loss of taste or smell, or nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. They have had “close contact” with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 and have not completed the required quarantine period. “Close contact” means living in the same household as a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, caring for a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, being within 6 feet of a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 for 15 minutes or more, or coming in direct contact with secretions (e.g., sharing utensils, being coughed on) from a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. They are currently required to self-isolate or quarantine by their doctor or a local public health official.
Graduates and guests, including faculty, administrators, and speakers, will be required to disclose to the college, university, or school if they test positive for COVID-19 after the Commencement for purposes of cleaning/disinfecting and contact tracing.
Staff or attendants must monitor entries and exits and limit occupancy at all times to ensure that: All Commencements must have staggered timed entry and exit for all participants and attendees in order to avoid crowding before or after a ceremony. On the dais/platform, faculty and distinguished guests are seated or standing at least 6 feet apart from each other. Graduates are seated or standing with appropriate distancing: If outdoors and masked, at least 3 feet apart from each other. If indoors and masked, at least 6 feet apart from each other. Guests who are not part of the same household/group must be seated at least 6 feet apart from other guests. Guests who are members of the same household/group are permitted to sit together and less than 6 feet apart. Graduates may be invited to walk across the stage individually and turn their tassel in lieu of receiving the diploma. Alternatively, diplomas and awards may also be distributed if bestowing the awards and diplomas is done cautiously (e.g., placing each diploma and award on a table as the graduate walks by to retrieve it).
Graduates must wear their face coverings at all times, except for designated photograph locations. Commencement speakers may remove their face coverings during their remarks only, provided that there is at least 6 feet between the speaker and the audience.
Singing and the playing of brass and wind instruments is discouraged. Singing is not allowed indoors. For Commencements involving outdoor singing or the indoor or outdoor playing of brass or wind instruments, special distancing must be followed:
Disinfect shared equipment, including microphones and podiums, before use by another worker or graduate. Prohibit any mutual touching of equipment without sanitation between uses.
