Principal Newsletter 1/22/2021
- Our hybrid model is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 8. There are 4 cohorts and letters to families identifying which cohort your child will be in will be mailed on January 27, so be on the lookout for that letter.
- I shared at morning announcements today that the grade with the most i-Ready Reading minutes for the week was fifth grade! The classroom with the most i-Ready minutes for Reading was Mr. Howes’ class! Congratulations and keep up the great work!!
- There is NO school for students on Friday, January 29 for Turn Around Day.
- Our School Council has been working at updating language in our family handbook around; parent/teacher conferences, drafting a cell phone policy, and brainstorming ideas to ignite excitement about accessing school when we’re in person. These are public meetings and anyone can join. We will continue to have these be virtual so please contact me if you’d like to be sent a link to join.
- The Friends of Sheffield (FOS) met Wednesday, January 20 and I have been asked to share the following;
- Please share your child’s first day of school photo with us so we can post to both the FOS website and Sheffield Elementary website.
- Our FOS is in need of a parent who is good with money and would be interested in being the treasurer. You do not need to be present at all meetings, you just need to be willing to sign papers authorizing you to write checks, be able to manage deposits/check writing/ and balancing, and provide an update on the balance to be shared out at monthly meetings. Please contact Lesley Cogswell at lescogs@gmail.com if interested or if you have any questions.
- Please see the letter to families below on our gear store. Show your Sheffield Pride by wearing our logo on sweatshirts, hats, etc.
Show Your Sheffield Pride!
Hello, Families!
We’d like to offer our popular Sheffield Gear Store again this year and give you the opportunity to purchase sweatshirts, shirts and winter pom-pom hats that feature our Sheffield logo. All purchases will be made through a secure online store where you can view and pay for items.
To run the store we must have a minimum number of orders. We’re hoping to spread the word and determine if there is enough interest this year.
If you would like to purchase any of the items listed below please contact Friends of Sheffield at friendsofsheffield@gmail.com by February 1, 2021.
Items are embroidered or printed at Silver Screen Design, in Greenfield, and will be shipped directly to your home. (Prices shown below are from the 2020 gear store and are subject to change.)
