This week our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders completed the ELA MCAS assessment. Many worked so hard and demonstrated their best effort. The staff of Team Sheffield are so proud of you!

Join Us For Our Movie Fundraiser - This Saturday April 15th!
We hope you'll join us at Greenfield Garden Cinemas for a special showing of The Super Mario Bros. Movie on Saturday, April 15th at 9 am. If you didn't purchase presale tickets, you can still grab them at the box office. They are just $5 each and the event will be open to the public. This is a great opportunity to do something fun over spring break while supporting our school! Be sure to invite your friends and family!

GRADE 5 - PUBERTY EDUCATION
Dear 5th Grade Parent/Guardians,
On May 19th and 26th, Sheffield & Gill Elementary 5th grade students will participate in a Puberty Education unit. This Introductory program will be taught by the school nurses. During this unit, students will learn about the:

Physical changes that happen during puberty
-
Female and male reproductive systems
-
Menstrual cycle/Spermatogenesis
-
Personal Hygiene
-
Social/emotional changes during puberty.
The resources will be presented in a classroom setting using both a PowerPoint presentation as well as interactive instruction. We teach students research based information and facts; we do not teach our values or beliefs surrounding these topics. We encourage you to talk to your students at home about what they are learning.
If you would like to view the Puberty Education Program or have questions, the Health Office at Sheffield will be open at the start of of the GMRSD Family Math Night on April 26 from 5:30-6:30 pm or you can call Billie Gammell, RN BSN, at 413-863-7441.
