REMINDER - NO PERSONAL ITEMS ARE ALLOWED AT SCHOOL!

Students must only bring to school items that are necessary for school. The following items should not be brought to school: candy, soda, gum, large amounts of money, cameras, stuffed animals, action figures and other toys, including balls, trading cards, skateboards, electronic toys and items including, iPods/mp3 players, electronic games, walkie-talkies, and laser pens.

We need your help in making sure that students are not bringing these items to school. Recently, we have had items lost and many distractions in learning. Thank you for your support!

REMINDER - FOOD CANNOT BE BROUGHT TO SHEFFIELD AND SHARED WITH OTHERS

GMRSD is a Nut Safe district. No nut products or food will be allowed in school buildings or offered through the school meal program. This includes peanuts, peanut butter or any other nut-based spread such as almond butter or hazelnut (i.e. Nutella). Please understand safety is our first responsibility and we hope we can all work together as a community to support all families and students that this may impact.

We also ask that no outside food be brought into school for birthday/holiday celebrations. As in the past, no sharing of food is allowed, either at school or on the bus.

This policy will be reviewed annually, and further changes will be made as needed. Living with severe allergic sensitivity is difficult and stressful. No one is more aware of the inconvenience caused by these conditions than the families who live with them. As a caring community, we want our school home to be safe and worry free for every child. Only then can we truly and joyfully focus on learning.

2ND GRADE STEM WITH MS. NEELEY - ENGINEERING PROJECT

In second grade we are learning about slow changes to land caused by wind and water. Second graders were also introduced to what it means to be an engineer - building something to solve a problem. Students worked as engineers and built seed protectors to solve the problem of seeds being washed away by the rain. We spent one class making our plans, one class building, and then ended by testing our builds! These pictures show some of the builds created by Mr. Cerone’s class.
