  • To ensure you receive district/school phone calls about school cancellations/delays please make sure:

    • We have your current/most up to date phone number

    • Please set up your voicemail

    • Please make sure your mailbox isn’t full

  • This Wednesday, January 12 is a half day with a noon dismissal.  The spirit day is Disney Day!  All staff and students are invited to wear something to represent Mickey Mouse or any favorite Disney movie or character.  Mouse ears are acceptable to wear for this day. These are always voluntary and are if you want to, not have to.

  • A friendly reminder that snow pants and snow boots are required to play in the snow.

  • Another friendly reminder, in order to decrease the spread of germs/viruses, we run air purifiers and ask all staff to crack a window to support air flow.  With the freezing temperatures forecast for tomorrow, please dress your child accordingly. (We will have indoor recess, but rooms will still be chilly.)

  • Here is a message from Christine Bates, our 21st Century Afterschool Coordinator: 

"Dear Sheffield After School Families,

As we went into December, I realized that returning to after school would have some challenges, therefore I made a pre-emptive decision to offset our start date. The challenges I imagined have multiplied with staff shortage, covid requirements, and new hire challenges. Therefore, I am pushing off our start date until at least 01/18 but possibly 01/24. This will give our families time to feel more safe around the after school mix of students, time to hire additional staff, and time to implement an exciting new program offering! Please feel free to call or text me at 413-824-1223 with questions and concerns. 

Remember: Be good. Learn lots. Have fun!

  • A huge Sheffield Pride shout out to the 24 students who completed our winter reading challenge!!  Kudos to second grade who had the most participants: Tyler, Liam, Eleanor, Bentley, Lilly, Jaxon, Chase, Xavier, Owen, Phoenyx.  Grade 3: Gabe, Makhi, Cora, Mark. Grade 4: Ava, Nethanel, Liam, Fiona, Sam, Lydia, Hannah. Grade 5: Jenna. (2 have no name but will be figured out)  All students will have their picture taken for our Wall of Fame and given a book. Congratulations again!!

  • Just a friendly reminder that next week there is no school on Monday, January 17 and Friday, January 21. 

  • I’d like to share an act of kindness- a fifth grader (who’d like to remain anonymous) won an art contest and when asked where the $100 community donation should go, they said Sheffield should get it!!  This student will decide what the money will be spent on!  Thank you for your generous support of our school!
